Contents of the guidance techniques (also guidance principles) are mainly the solution of organizational problems in the context of the executive function of an enterprise.

Thus certain goals result:

1. Exemption of the high-level personnel for genuine executive functions and discharge of routine tasks

2. Lend - > positive increase in output to coworkers more independence during execution of the work by motivation

3. Adjustment of the business achievement at changed environmental condition

In the last years numerous guidance concepts were developed, which do not have to be mutually exclusive however. Usually they are well-known under the name management by"….

Partialmodelle can rough be differentiated by total models. Partialmodelle consider only partial aspects of the guidance, while total models seize all organization parameters.

== management by Objectives == (total model) at the management by objectives (guidance by goal agreement) the operating goals in partnership co-operation between production management and coworkers are agreed upon, whereby tasks and Verantwortungen of the individual departments are specified after the goals which can be achieved. Each department can specify thereby the way to the goal, because not the way but reaching of the goals is controlled.

== management by Decision Rules == (Partialmodell) this principle is based on the delegation of tasks of decision. Exact rules are specified, according to which these decisions pleases become must. These rules serve mainly the solution of co-ordination problems, which develop, if several persons are involved in the decision-making process. Translated: Guidance on the basis decision rules

== to management by == (Partialmodell) with this principle of the guidance according to the exception principle routine decisions are to exception generally in the hands of the coworkers. The guidance personnel intervenes only with extraordinary decisions or in the case of deviations of individual departments.

== management by delegation == (Partialmodell) by the delegation of whole fields and the appropriate Verantwortungen and authority at coworkers is relieved the guidance of the enterprise with the guidance by task delegation by routine decisions, yet this keeps the guidance responsibility.

Management by system

With the guidance by control likewise the delegation of tasks stands in the center, but the concept is based here on the economical system theory. To reach that is, it aimed at as high a self regularization of the subsystems as possible by the support of different computer-assisted systems.

== management by Results == (Partialmodell) the principle management by results (guidance by result orientation) is based on the principle of the assignment of goals, whereby a target achievement (default of goals which can be achieved) is determined and compared with the actual performance (reached results). There is thus an efficiency control by the guidance. With this principle the coworkers possess only few participation powers.

There is still another number of further principles.
