Grundholde in the Middle Ages farmers were called, who worked outside of the Fronhofes on own farms, but taxes at the basic gentlemen to deliver had.
They stood like the in a relationship, that not completely unfreely, but by their position as Hintersassen of a basic gentleman by its rural serving and obligation to pay interest nevertheless was limited their liberty (see in addition also body characteristic).
