Group materials are consisting packing materials, of at least two different materials, which are full-laminar connected with one another and cannot be separated by hand. They are a sub-group of the composite materials.

A typical group material is the beverage cardboard. It consists of cardboard as well as the plastic polyethylene and can also for longer durable products, as juices contain, a layer aluminum. Further usual packing from group materials is butter rewinding stands (aluminum/paper), coated cardboards for frozen food or bag for Instantsuppen (aluminum/plastic).

In Germany dual system with the "Green collects point" licensed group material packing ("yellow bag").
