The magazine Groove was created in the year 1989 of Thomas's cook (DJ T.) as scene magazine for the range of the electronic music, parties and the Techno life-style in Frankfurt/Main. The editorship of the magazine resides today in Berlin.
The magazine financed itself by adverts and in disk shops was free of charge distributed. The magazine had therefore fast a large circle of master readers. Beside the de: To nose and the Raveline is considered the Groove today as one of the most important German magazines to electronic music.
Thomas's cook the magazine led as a publisher by December 2004. In the December of the yearly he communicated the sales of the magazine to the Piranha Media GmbH, which publishes the magazine since then. The Groove appears bimonthly. Beside the freely distributed edition the magazine is since 2005 also at the kiosk in "improved" version with some additional sides and enclosed CD available. Additionally to that about 35,000 freely available copies 25,000 copies of the liable to pay the costs variant are shifted.
Beside interviews and reports on national and international DJs, technique reports and the numerous DJ-Charts it gives overviews of the most important parties and an extensive column with disk reviews.
In each Groove is a Comic with the cult figure "Hotze", which is drawn by the artists bringing man & Kopetzki.
