Goods cycle one calls the life cycle of goods. Products/goods are won in industriellen processes from raw materials. By sales they arrive into the economic or private use. The consumer durables are recycelt, if their functionality is no longer given, either or deposited as waste.

Raw materials

Nature offers from the periodic system admitted elements. These occur on the earth's surface in pure form usually in very small quantities: 46,6%Sauerstoff, 27,7%Stickstoff, 8,1%Bauxit and 5%Eisen. All other elements (about 90) divide themselves on the remaining 12.6%. Enriched and separately from foreign atoms from it the technical raw materials develop. Input for production raw materials are called also as factors of production.

Production

Production wins from the supplied raw materials by development and manufacturing goods and products, which occur by sales the economic circulation. With production drop remainder products (=Ausschuss), which can to be recovered have to be deposited either as valuable material by means of recycling again to raw materials or as low order wastes (=unverwertbare residual substances).

Use

The use represents here the use of the won goods/products. This can take place via industry or also via private people. With the use the product loses by aging it at the beginning of assigned characteristics. This takes place via the different kinds from material fatigue, as for example corrosion or wear. If material fatigue exceeds a certain limit, will the product thereby uselessly and becomes the throw-away article. Depending upon condition the product can now to a recycling enterprise come or must become deposited "disposed".

Recycling

Recycling the procedure is called, with which from waste (secondarily) - raw material becomes. Apart from the recycling thereby the possibilities for the re-use and recycling are available. For re-use (e.g. pledge bottles) disposed product only prepared, i.e. cleaned and thus back into a condition with high order brought. The actual problem of the recycling is however not solved here, but is not only postponed. To win the recycling/further use tried from sorted valuable material again products with higher order. The actual recycling isolates valuable material group materials again widen-possible into the individual raw materials, in order to return these as purely and genuinely as possible into the product cycle. With all three procedures wastes however always result, which must be final-stored as low order residual substances deposited.

Wastes

All in such a manner designated wastes represent here at present low order residual substances, which must be stored on dumps for longer time. In Germany there are at present 5 classes from dumps to the storage of:

1. Dumps for dangerous wastes
2. Dumps for not dangerous wastes
3. Dumps for inert wastes
4. Dumps for building debris
5. Dumps for soil excavation
