With GIGA different television broadcasts and the pertinent Internet side of the GIGA are brought digitally to Television GmbH with reference to computer topics in connection. As high an interactivity as possible is to be made possible by the connection of television and Internet and therefore it in former times as "the first interactive Internet television" was designated. Lately a ever stronger adjustment is recognizable to computer game topics.

On this transmitter all transmissions will transfer from GIGA. At the end of August 2005 one announced to offer parallel to the TV transmission a digital data offer via IP-Stream over DVB-S. Thus it should be later possible to receive with the help of a DVB S map for the PC and the necessary program presupposed, current Downloads free of charge or to change during the transmission "GIGA \ \ GAMES "the camera perspective. However additionally an Internet connection should be needed, in order to give the signal for the activation of the respective Downloads or the camera perspective. In the meantime the development was stopped. Jens Hilgers, managing director of GIGA digital, justified the decision with the fact that the Client offers and "before its time" had been planned "no genuine increase in value" to the spectator. It stated that the DSL connection of the spectators offers more possibilities, to become interactive, as the Client. Some functions, like e.g. the transmitter GIGA2 which is in development, are to run over the future IPTV.

Formats

By the increasing success "of the nut/mother transmission "GIGA (green) gradually new formats and/or transmissions were introduced and set off others.

Most of these formats are based on the idea that the spectators (Community called) over Internet with the moderators ("net reporters "mentioned) communicate and to the respective topics express themselves. A transmission is mostly divided into several topic-referred ranges, which alternate every few minutes in so-called "Takes ". The ranges are called also "Channel ". Between the individual Takes in former times disconnecting switches - called with GIGA "Bumper "- were brought in, what also today still sometimes "GIGA PLAY" the case is.
