The German traffic-scientific society registered association (DVWG) is a combination of the specialists of the traffic, who in the traffic sciences, which traffic economy and the traffic policy and/or - administration are active. The DVWG is a non-profit society of the traffic science and the member in the German federation of technical-industrial associations. The DVWG aligns its activities in such a way that she both when for individual member combination and federation apply can.

History

The development of the traffic-scientific associations in Germany began 20 at the beginning. Century, as in the year 1908 in Berlin the scientific association for traffic (WVV) was created. The federation magazine was the "traffic-technical week". After the end of the war and in the course of the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany in the May of the yearly 1949 the "German traffic-scientific society" was created in at the Main. With the establishment of the DVWG the federation organ appeared, the technical periodical "international traffic" (at the beginning of still under the title "international archives for traffic"). The DVWG was since their establishment a decentralized organized society with a central office and several district combinations. In the year 1990 the DVWG with the reunification was increased un the district combinations of the eastern Lands of the Federal Republic. End of the 1990-er years took place the transfer of the Geschaftsstelle from Gergisch Gladbach back into the original homeland to Berlin. In this time the DVWG strengthened its efforts to form together with the European sister companies a "European platform of the traffic sciences" (2000/2001).
