The German dte federation registered association is an association of the dte importers, - manufacturers, - Abpacker and salesmen. It represents the interests of the members in relation to federation, foreign federations and the retail trade. The estimated gross income of the member firms is with over 1 billion euro, half of it with dte (black and green dte) is approximately obtained. The German dte federation is in the public list, for federations, which represent interests in relation to the Bundestag or the Federal Government (lobby list), registered.

As main points of work the statutes prescribe:

• Questions of the food right
  • Food marking
  • Contents materials of dte
  • Flavours and excerpts
  • Requirements at food from ecological cultivation and
  • the guiding principles of the German food book for dte, dte-similar products, their excerpts and preparing
• Questions of the quality assurance
• nourish-physiological questions regarding dte.

In February 2005 organized the federation the international dte specialized conference in Hamburg.
