German bibliography was a German literature magazine, which appeared in Weimar.

Time frame

The German bibliography appeared in the years from 1909 to 1917 and from 1920 to 1933. From 1918 to 1919 the sheet carried temporarily the title the German emergency. In the 20's it was supplement at the same time to realm-waited.

Publisher and intentions

Publisher and a main author was the literature historian Adolf Bartels, which had conceived the magazine as critic organ. Beside reviews of newly published books it spread in it its views over the German literature of the past and the present.

Coworker and influences

Secretary and coworker at this sheet was occasional Hans Severus Ziegler, that after Hitler's seizure of power 1933 deputy gau leader from Thuringia became and 1936 general managers Weimar national theatres.
