German accounting standard Committee (DRSC) was created as national standardisation organization, which was recognized with contract from 3 September 1998 by the Federal Ministry of the law (BMJ) as a private accounting committee in the sense of "§ 342 HGB as legal basis. Under the roof of the DRSC the German standardisation advice (DSR) was created as an independent standardisation committee. Internationally the DRSC appears as German Accouting standard Committee (GASC), the DSR as German Accounting standard board (GASB).

The tasks Germans of the standardisation advice are:

1. the development of recommendations (standards) to the application of the principles over company accounting
2. the consultation of the Federal Ministry of the law with legislation projects to accounting regulations
3. Agency of Germany in international standardisation committees.

The regulations of the DRSC, are not right-obligating so-called "German accounting standard (DRS)", however the legislator assumes the adherence to the principles of regular record keeping with application of the DRS. A company conclusion, with which the DRS was not used (completely), must contain an appropriate reference with the examination by an accountant, this is however no reference point for correctness lacking.

The DRSC is a registered, selbstlos active association with seat in Berlin. It consists of "the executive committee ", "the German standardisation advice ", "accounting "to the executive committee committee "interpretation the Committee (RIC) "and "the meeting of the members ".
