A ATN is training and an activity number of a soldier of the German German Federal Armed Forces or an aid in the THW.

Different training and activities are acquired in the German Federal Armed Forces on training courses or training on the job (AAP) and proven with a training course certification (simultaneous certificate of competency). The different activities are classified after a certain system in a numeric way. Here one speaks of the ATN. Each ATN is assigned a ATB - "training and job description" -. After the general basic training the soldier acquired for example the ATN 301 2987, which corresponds to a ATB "safeguard and awake soldier".

Army ATN usually begin with a 3, air force ATN with 5, ATN of the navy with 7 and ATN of the with 8.
