Fire-brigade knots are joint connections by ropes, linen etc. in the fire-brigade everyday life to be used. It concerns here knots, which have their origin in the navigation or in the normal life.
At the fire-brigade the knots serve to lash or secure against falling down and slipping away articles. They can be used also for fastening loads or tools. Safe connections are to be manufactured by the knots, which are to be solved afterwards simply.
Some knots are inserted also for people rescue, when self saving or during the safety against falling.
For some knots different names are used (e.g. the Palstek corresponds to the fire-brigade rescue knot). From the multiplicity of knots the most common are specified here:
