Ferrari is an Italian automark, which by their sports cars and its commitment became famous when running (in recent time only in the formula 1). The company was created 1946 by the former running driver Enzo Ferrari as independent mark and belonged today to the Fiat company. Master seat of the company is Maranello in Italy. The annual production amounts to scarcely 5,000 vehicle units (conditions 2005).
The origins of the company go back on the running team Scuderia Ferrari, which among other things very successfully drove motorraces from 1929 to 1938 under the direction of Enzo Ferrari as a work team of Alfa Romeo, without building even vehicles. The horse does not by the way only stand for Ferrari. Fabio Taglionis company Ducati used it likewise for its motorcycles. Taglionis father was a friend of baron Baracca and flew in its team, the 91. Fliegerstaffel.Nachdem Ferrari had become famous disappeared the horse as Logo for Ducati and it is assumed that the two companies an agreement were received over the use.
Today the horse is a registered registered trade mark for Ferrari.
The gas station chain Avanti uses in Austria and Eastern Europe a nearly identical Logo including black-yellow colors.
The Swedish guitarist and Ferrari fan Yngwie Malmsteen called a set of its Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar after the Ferrari coat of arms Cavallino rampante.
