The Csar Manrique (donation Manrique) is in the former house of the artist in Tahiche, a place in the midst of the Kanari island Lanzarote, its homeland island.

The garden with Weiher and the wall painting was created by winter 1991 until spring 1992. The museum accommodates the contemporary collection of the donation, as well as a collection of contemporary, kanarischer art. At the exit an expanded collection of its pictorial work Manrique" is to be admired.

Description of building

The donation is today in the house of the artist and pertinent farm buildings accommodated. The entire complex was transformed by Manrique themselves, in order to adapt it to its new function of a museum. The house stands for 30,000 m on a large property, which extends over a lava stream, which comes from the volcanic eruptions from 1730 to 1736. The building was established over five large, volcanic blisters and consists of two floors. The floor space amounts to 1800 m in addition come 1200 m terraces and garden and 2900 m parking lot.

By the upper floor conventional architecture Lanzarotes is to be recognized. Modern elements were added, as widened glass areas and generous free spaces. Here in former times living rooms, kitchen (today the graphic work) were, lounge, the hall "Epacios", a guest room, the bedroom Manriques (today "Bocetos" - hall) as well as a bathroom with integrated green areas. The lower floor extends over five natural volcanic blisters, which were interconnected by cave courses. There there is a recovery range, a pool, a small etc. with magnificent vegetation. Also the former studio of the painter can be visited there. A bar and a shop are in former garages.
