Fritz Schlumpf (* 1906 in Omegna with Milan; "† 18 April 1992 in Basel) was a textile producer and an automobile collecting tank from in the Elsass, France.

Schlumpf was the son of the Textilingenieurs Carl Schlumpf and its wife Jeanne Becker. The textile producer Hans Schlumpf was its brother. 1908 drew the family over after Elsass, and Schlumpf lived there up to the escape of the brothers in Swiss exiles in the year 1977.

The brothers Fritz and Hans Schlumpf gathered an enormous collection of classical automobiles, among them also several hundred Bugatti between the end of the second world war and 1977. For the financing of this hobby they loaded their enterprise in such a manner the fact that this 1977 became insolvent will dismiss and in the consequence over 2000 persons employed into unemployment had. Up to this time of the public the not well-known automobile collection with excesses in the context of a strike by the former workers of the textile work one discovered.

With proceeds from the sales of the vehicles, which can be obtained, the demands of the creditors could have been served, however the collection - particularly by the intervention of the French government under Mitterrand - in its whole could be received.

The former workshops of the textile mill accommodate today the national de l'Automobile of France.
