Friedrich Trendelenburg (* 24. May 1844 in Berlin; "† 15 December 1924 in Berlin) was a famous physician.

He was son of the important philosopher Friedrich Adolf Trendelenburg and father of the lawyer Ernst Trendelenburg, as well as the Pharmakologen Paul Trendelenburg.

After the Abitur studied Friedrich Trendelenburg medicine in Scotland at the universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.Er terminated its study in Berlin and attained a doctorate 1866. Subsequently, he worked 1868-1874 as an assistant at Konrad von Langenbeck.

1875 it followed a call to the University of Rostock and attained 1882 a Professur at the University of Bonn thirteen years remained it in Bonn, in order to teach and research, until it changed 1895 as a medical director to the university clinic Leipzig. There it remained up to its death in the year 1924.

Died it in close proximity to Berlin at a cancer ulcer in the lower jaw.
