French North Africa was a French colony, in 19. /20. Century existed. It covered the today's States of Algeria, Tunesien and Morocco, whereby the north of Morocco was occupied by the Spaniards. The northern part of the today's State of Algeria was with this name a part of the French motherland.

1830 began the conquest of Algeria, but only 1847 capitulated the state. 1881 were occupied Tunesien and 1911 became Morocco colony of France. These two colonies were given up 1956. Algeria followed only 1962.

On 7 November 1942 American and English soldiers landed for conquest in French North Africa.

The three States of (Algeria, Morocco, Tunesien) were recognized repeatedly also as independent colony of France.
