Free German high pin for sciences, arts and general education has as major task the support Frankfurt Goethe houses and - museum and the promotion of the edition of literary works.

It became 1859, to 100. Birthday Friedrich Schillers, based on suggestion of Otto Volger, lecturer of the geology in Lueneburg, which in the revolution was engaged of 1848, of a majority the Frankfurt citizens. It has poet archives, a graphic collection and a research library.
