Franz Josef Popp (* around 1886 in Vienna; "† 19 July 1954 in Stuttgart) was a Austrian engineer and the first general manager (chairman of the board) of BMW.

From 1918-1942 Franz Josef Popp was a first general manager of the Bavarian engine works. Since it pounded during the Second World War vehement against a one-sided adjustment of BMW production on the war armament, it "was given time off" 1942 by the LV authorities. After the Second World War it came into allied detention, where it was classified briefly first as a "and before its dismissal as "unloaded ". He did not try several times to come the point of the enterprise it succeeded to it however any longer.
