Franz Itting (* 1875; "† 1967) were a industrial pioneer.

Itting developed a power station in Probstzella 1933 ago and made itself by its social commitment a name. Among other things decreased/went back the establishment local resident house of the people to its initiative.

In the NS time the Thuringian industrial pioneer was politically met with hostility and arrested as "red Itting". After end of war Itting was considered to 1948 as a "capitalist" and was again arrested. After its dismissal from the prison its family was expropriated and moved in Bavarian Ludwig city.

2002 took up the journalist novel Grafe the history "of the Industriellen pursued under both dictatorships" and described it in its book the border by Germany. Three years later the documentary film more light developed. The life's work of the Franz Itting (D 2005).
