Dr. Franz Seraph Dinghofer (* 6 April 1873 in Ottensheim; "† 12. 1956 in Vienna) was a Austrian judge and politician.

From be already enough in the upper-Austrian Ottensheim resident family coming - father and grandfather were both post office masters and restaurant operators/barkeepers in the municipality - more visited he the local resident elementary school. Afterwards it changed in the High School to free city, where it maturierte 1893, and thereupon began law studies at the university of Graz. There it attained a doctorate 1897 to the Dr. jur. 1899 he married the Linzerin Meindl, with which he had later three children.

Dinghofer became a judge in Linz, later also in Urfahr and Vienna. From 1907 to 1918 he was a mayor von Linz, and from 1911 to the dissolution of Austria Hungary of 1918 realm advice delegates. During 1918 and 1919 he upper-Austrian state parliament delegates and member were their provisional state meeting and the provisional national assembly, whose president was he. 1919 it created the largeGerman combination, from which 1920 the anti-Semitic gesinnte largeGerman people's party followed, whose chairman was also he. Between 1919 and 1920 he was a third president of the constituent national assembly, and from 1920 to 1926 third president of the national council.

Under the government Ignaz Seipels it was of October 1926 until May a 1927 vice-chancellor, thereafter Federal Ministers in the Office of the Federal Chancellor and from 1927 to 1928 Federal Ministers for law. Whereupon the ten years lasting presidency of the highest Court of Justice followed, to it at the 11. May 1938 was shifted into the retirement. It died to 12. 1956 in Vienna and was buried at the Barbarafriedhof in Linz.
