The Frack is called the most festive gentleman suit, also large dress uniform (contrary to the tuxedo as small dress uniform), which is carried only at evening companies. To differentiate here however that is Frack which can be carried officially, e.g. with waiters (by the fact of the guest it differs that they carry the Frack with a black loop) and hall servants, who carry the Frack as Livree. The hall servants of the federal daily carry a Frack with golden buttons.
The Frack originally originates from the Biedermeier period. Nowadays it is black (more rarely dark-blue) and consists of the jacket with "dove tails" (at the back), which is waist short in front and is in principle openly carried. The pointed written undertakings are usually decorated with shining Seidensatin. The Frackhose has never envelopes and at the side seams with two silk edgings - also Galons mentioned - is processed. The Frackhose is carried not with belt but only with suspenders. In addition one carries a white Frackweste or grief federation, a white tie loop (both from cotton as well as a Frackhemd with standing collar (parricide) and simple seal, which is not turned over. The foot is dressed in dark silk or and lacquer shoes (Pumps, no tying shoes).
Only possible head coverage to the Frack is the black cylinder (Chapeau claque); optional accessories are white silk scarf and white Glaceehandschuhe.
The most festive gentleman suit during the day is called the Cutaway, also "Frack of the daily"; it is carried only very rarely nowadays e.g. with weddings of the aristocracy and large middle class or to horse running and can be replaced by the Stresemann.
