Fra Diavolo (ital.: Brother of the devil, actually Michael Pezza; * 7 April 1771 in Itri]; "Â 11 November 1806 in Neapel). The run away monk Fra Angelo became the bandit and took part under Ferdinand of IVTH in the armed resistance Italy against France. It was imprisoned taken by the Frenchmen and hung in Neapel.
Its life became frequently related as material in the arts.
