The Forstamt Geisenfeld was responsible for the forest surfaces of the district Pfaffenhofen to the Ilm, the circle-free city Ingolstadt and the southeast part of the district

The Forstamt Geisenfeld was to at the end of of 2005 an authority of the Bavarian state forest administration. It covered a surface of 129110 hectars, of it was 26.66% forest (34435 hectars). The north south expansion amounted to 60 km, the east west expansion 25 km. The highest point was for instance with 550 m NN. The deepest in the Danube valley with approximately 350 m NN.

In the course of the forest reform in Bavaria the Forstamt Geisenfeld with the office for agriculture Pfaffenhofen was folded up. The new name for both offices reads office for agriculture and forests Pfaffenhofen. The new office for the districts Pfaffenhofen and Neuburg Schrobenhausen is responsible. Service seats for the range agriculture are Pfaffenhofen and Schrobenhausen, for the range forests Geisenfeld.
