Ford focus one is world-wide refugee model row Ford engine company. The successor Ford of the Escort was world-wide in the years 2000 and 2001 the usually sold car.
The model settled in the compact class (internal code: C-170) was brought in October 1998 in Europe and 2000 in North America on the market. Pilot-planned, the Ford work was in the Saarland Saarlouis, where in June 2005 the 10-millionste successor of the Ford focus will be produced (inclusive predecessor model Escort).
Although actually a development of the European subsidiary company was, Ford focus successfully in the USA. The vehicle was conceived as three and sedan with steep flow tail. The standard in Germany covered already 4 Airbags, ABS as well as (apart from a basis savings variant) Zentralverriegelung, electrical window lifters in front and with the stronger engines an anti-slip regulation. The surcharge list covered still many further things such as air conditioning system, on board computer, Tempomat, seat heating and later also ESP.
In October 2001 Ford focus a small Facelift got. Here new headlights with integrated turn signal and separate high and low beam (H1 and H7) were introduced, the bumpers and details to the interior (frame tunnel) as well as some changed in the electrical connection (in particular installation of a General Electric modules like already with other Ford models). Besides two new engines were introduced, everything in front the focus ST 170, which was equipped with 127 KW strong 2,0-Liter-Benziner in connection with a 6-Gang-Getriebe, darkly set off headlights, a larger brake assembly and a sportier chassis. Besides special sport seats were blocked; when desired there were Recaro Sportsitze. Also Bi-Xenonlicht was available starting from the Facelift as well as a climatic mechanism. Starting from November 2002 there was the focus as natural gas vehicle (CNG) with lower floor panel arranged containers.
Likewise 2002 were introduced the focus R-S, which mobilized 158 KW with a 2-Liter-Turbomotor. He was equipped with numerous racing components, among other things OZ-18 " - rims, Brembo brakes, Sperrdifferenzial, savings CO half shell seats and the optics Ford of the focus WRC Rallyecars. The focus R-S was world-wide limited to 4501 pieces. The focus in the savings variant without names (colloquially basis focus, among other things without ZV and without electrical window lifters) was offered, to the standard basic variant Ambiente, the sport version trend, the elegant execution Ghia, the luxury version Ghia X and various special models such as Viva, Viva X, Futura', finesse and sport TDCi.
The production Ford of the focus takes place likewise global. Factories stand for Almussafes in Saarlouis (Germany), (with Valencia (Spain)), Sank Petersburg (Russia), Hermosillo (Mexico), Pacheco (Argentina) and Wayne, Michigan (the USA).

In November 2004 the successor was introduced; Ford focus '05 (C307) on the understructure already since in the middle of of May 2003 Kompaktvan Ford focus C-MAX produced be based to a large extent (internal: C214), which is manufactured in the Ford work Saarlouis, and from which so far 240,000 pieces from the assembly-line ran. (Conditions March 2005). Sales start was at the beginning of November 2004; the combination version focus tournament (wagon 307) followed several weeks later. Equipment lines are: Ambiente, trend, sport, Ghia and Titanium. Additionally there is the edition model to Fun and Connection
Since autumn 2005 now also the focus ST, which is equipped with a turbo-loaded 2,5-l-/166-kW-Motor, is built. With the focus ST, Ford engineer availed themselves, with many construction units (e.g. engine & brakes) from the shelf of the sister company Volvo. The ST is only as 3 - or 5 - available.
Starting from October 2006 it will give a Cabrio version under the name to focus Cabriolet, which is installed by the company Pininfarina in Turin/Italy. It will be the first Cabrio of Ford in Europe with a hinged Hardtop.
At the same time also a Ford is to appear focus C-max with "glass roof" on the European automobile market.
A further planned niche product should be a compact jeep on the basis of the focus '05. The Produktionstart desired for this car is in the middle of 2007.
Ford ethanol uses focus FFV (FFV=Flexible Fuel Vehicle) as fuel. In addition the fuel system was easily modified. Gasoline and ethanol can be filled in same tank.
Starting from September 2005 also a pressure natural gas variant of the Ford focus will be available C-MAX.
From January to June 2005 38,000 Ford focus and 13,000 focus C-MAX became certified in Germany.
2007 are presumably revised the focus II in the context of the model care optically and then also with a power SHIFT direct transmission to be available.
