A Flipchart (also Flip Chart, English for diagram) is an aid for presentations (e.g. Lectures, Referate) and discussions. It is used particularly in the working sphere.

It consists of a large plate, which is well visibly set up with a stand similarly as a Staffelei at a side of the area and on the one large sized paper block (mostly unlined, occasionally in far raster cross-hatched) is fastened.

The speaking can write and draw with thick felt-tip pens (colored markers) on the Flipchart Papierblock and use this as a board. In contrast to '' the Whiteboard '', a kind, there is white board with the Flipchart no possibility for the deletion; in order to begin a new sheet, one tears the described sheet from the block or turns it over to the rear.

History

The Flipchart was invented by John Henry Patterson, the US-American selling pioneer and enterprise founder of the NCR corporation.
