The fire fighting water support guideline is a guideline for the prevention of contamination or poisoning of waters in the proximity of structural facilities, in which with water-endangering materials one goes around or in those in the case of fire such materials to develop to be able.

Background

The fire fighting water support guideline was issued after a number of heavy chemistry disasters in close proximity to waters. Thus it came on 1 November 1986 with a major fire on plants of the chemical concern Sandoz into Swiss-resounds with Basel by contaminated fire fighting water to a large fishing inheriting in the Rhine.
