Ferdinand" Ferry "Anton Ernst Porsche (* 19 September 1909 in Viennese new city (Austria); "† 27. March 1998 in cell at the lake) was a GermanAustrian entrepreneur (automotive manufacture) and engineer.

Overview

Ferry Porsche came as a son of the automobile technical designer Ferdinand Porsche (senior) to the world. During its sister Louise (1904-1999) the Viennese lawyer Anton married and in Austria remained, took over Ferry after the father death, 1951, the 1931 in Stuttgart created design engineering department. This office received the order from the RDA (realm federation of the automobile industry) on 22 June 1934, "Volkswagen "(later also KDF - Kraft by joy) to develop. At this development Ferry was considerably involved.

Its most important life's work is the structure of the Zuffenhausener automobile mark Dr. Ing. h. C.F. Porsche AG, which went out out of the engineer office. Ferry Porsche led the development of the first Porsche model - the type 356 built starting from 1948. This model was partly made at that time in in where the company had fled to the end of war, with simple means of Volkswagen parts. The form of all important Porsche vehicles (round headlights on convex curved fenders, sloping tail, rounded off rear window) - including the stylistic idiom 911 - decreases/goes back this very day to the Design 356. The company Porsche builds the models of the type 911, whose lines Ferrys son Butzi (Ferdinand Alexander Porsche) to today sports cars of world-wide reputation - among other things since 1963 drew.

Ferry Porsche sketched also the brand name of Porsche. The mixture from the coats of arms of Hohenzollern and Stuttgart manufactures a purchase for the location of the work. It is supplemented by a crowning Porsche signature. Ferry Porsche drew the first draft once with a stay in New York on a napkin. Today it is one of the most famous brand names of the world.

Ferry Porsche was chairman of the board of Dr. Ing. h. C.F. Porsche AG up to the retreat of the family from operational management 1972. Subsequently, it led the supervisory board and was up to its death 1998 the honorary chairman of the supervisory board of Porsche. In addition it was common to that with its sister Louise in the possession Porsche getting thing in Salzburg, whose main business is this very day the trade with vehicles of the marks Volkswagen and Audi.

Ferry Porsche was married and father of four sons Ferdinand Alexander, Gerhard, Hans Peter and Wolfgang.
