The Federal Institution for the digital radio of the authorities and organizations with safety tasks (BDBOS) is a planned federaldirect legally responsible institute of the public right their task it to be is to develop and operate a country widely uniform digital bad radio system for the security authorities. The BDBOS is to have their seat in Berlin.

The law for the establishment of the BDBOS was decided on 1 July 2005 as last brought in collecting main before the question of confidence of the Federal Chancellor Gerhard After refusal by the Upper House of Parliament the BDBOS law was referred to the mediation committee. This happened it, however it was not brought due to the preferred new elections on 18 September 2005 again into the Bundestag.
