Since beginning of the yearly 2003 an internationally uniform Logo marks the products of the fair trade. The assignment of the fair trade Logos, whose development was supported by the German Federal Government, is attached at certain social and partially also ecological criteria.

Criteria

The criteria for the assignment of the fair trade Logos are for example the direct trade with the groups of producers without middleman, payment of minimum prices over the level of the world prices, Vorfinanzierung and long-term sources of supply. Partially also ecological criteria are set up.

Control

For the adherence to these criteria the association vouches TransFair in connection with the organization fair trade Labelling organizations international (FLO). Groups of producers, dealers and licensees are to be controlled regularly.

Lizenzierung fair trade of the Logos

Country widely approx. 70 importing firms with TransFair locked a license agreement. That means that they offer products on the German market, which are acted after the FLO guidelines.
