Fair Play (or "Fairplay ") is a term, which marks a certain sporty behavior, which goes beyond the bare observance of rules. It describes an attitude of the sportsman: the respect for the sporty opponent and the keeping of its physical and psychological soundness. The sporty opponent is seen as partner.

Fairplay (Fairness) orders thus:

• the acknowledgment and adherence to (play) the rules
• partnership handling the opponent
• to pay attention to same chances and conditions
• the motive for profit "limit" (no victory at any price)
• To retain attitude in victory and defeat

Fair Play is to be thought thus also a kind, not only as a kind of the behavior. It aims off at the removal of cheats, to force and fraud. Above all the use of Doping means is fair a striking offence against the spirit of the Play.

Former Federal President Richard von formulated it as follows: "The formal attention of rules is not only required. Written rules will never be able to replace the human attitude "fair of the Play". The sportsman, who considers fair the Play, does not act after the letter, it acts after the spirit of the rules".

Kinds of sport, with which Fairplay is embodied in play philosophy:

• Tchoukball
• Ultimate frisbee

The fair Play Inititiative in the German sport (particularly supports by the German olympic society) tries to make the fair Play thoughts popular for years ("fair goes forwards"). Top-class sportsmen recruit for this idea and it a fair Play price will annually assign.

The expression fair Play finds use within the range of the consciousness-shaping of development policy in Germany for few years increasingly, for example in the fair trade or with the demand after social standards in toy production.
