Explosive trackhounds are trained on recognizing the smell by explosives.

Explosives are not only explosive devices, but also mines and other weapons.

The training is made by the play behavior of the dog, as humans prepare toy, e.g. a "Bringsel (of again-brought) with small explosive samples. The dog connects the smell later positively with "plays" and is so strongly motivated. The training is here alike as with the drug trackhound, only with other Geruchsstoffen.

When finding an object however the dog must behave absolutely passively: it puts itself to the announcement and makes so the find clear. An active behavior (e.g. through scratch at the object), how it with the drug trackhounds is usual, would be here for dog and dog leader possibly dangerous or deadly.
