The European Energy Exchange (EEX) is an electronic market place for the energy trade with seat in Leipzig.

Came out the EEX from a fusion of the LPX (Leipzig power Exchange) and the European Energy Exchange with seat in Frankfurt in the year 2002.

Concerning this outside a trade with CO2-Emissionsrechten takes place to the EEX since 2005. The Handelsvolumen for this was with 3.2 million tons.
