Euricius Cordus, called Eberwein, actually Heinrich crack (*1486 in Simtshausen in weather (upper Hessen), "† 24 December 1535 in Bremen) was a German human, poet, a physician and a Botaniker.

Cordus was born as the youngest of 13 children (therefore it Cordu = the late one) of the farmer Urban Solden.

It received first instruction in weather and Franconia mountain, afterwards it went on the latin school into Marburg. It studied Erfurt starting from 1505 at the university and was thereafter a rector in Kassel and Rentschreiber of the land countess widow Anna in rock mountain (Hessen). Around 1512 it created a family from numerous children, under it also Valerius Cordus came out. Starting from 1513 Cordus studied 1516 again in Erfurt and to the Magister was attained a doctorate. In Erfurt it closed a friend circle with Eobanus Hessus, Mutianus Rufus and Joachim Camerarius D. on.

After a time as a rector at the pin school it studied pc. Marien in Erfurt starting from 1519 medicine. it met 1521 in Worms Martin Luther and traveled after it after Ferrara and to the Dr. med. was attained a doctorate there.

Starting from 1523 he was a physician in Braunschweig and 1527 by land count Philipp from Hessen to the professor of the medicine to the again created University of Marburg was appointed. There it created a private Botani garden, into which it accomplished excursion ions with its students. Cordus is considered as one the founder of the scientific Botanik in Germany. it as a city physician and Gymnasiallehrer went to 1534 to Bremen where it up to its death lived.

Cordus was a well-known of again latin poet and is as Epigrammatiker in 16. Century unequalled. Gotthold Ephraim Lessing used many over 1.200 the Epigramme in its own sense poems. As human Cordus was trailer of Luther and supported the efforts of land count Philipp of Hessen, who tried to cause a reconciliation between lutherischen and zwinglikanischen theologians.

Its son Valerius Cordus (* 18 February 1515 in Kassel; "† 25 November 1544 in Rome) was Botaniker, physician, Pharmakologe and natural scientist.
