The ESP Guitar company (ESP = E'lectric sound P'roducts) is American/Japanese enterprise, which manufactures E-guitars as well as E-basses.

History

The company ESP Guitars was created 1975 by Hisatake Shibuya in Japan. First only for the selling and sales from spare parts for E-guitars meant, the company began in the year 1983 with the production of own guitars and spare parts. The first instruments were special preparations, which were manufactured individually according to the desires of the customers. With increasing success the series production of the most frequently inquired model variants finally began. In the year 1986 the company opened the first branch branch (48th Street Guitars) in Manhattan, New York, where mainly instruments for considerable artists and special productions are manufactured. In order to be represented also in the a riser sector, ESP created first the company Grass root, in the year 1996 the company Ltd., under whose name favorable copies of the ESP instruments in Asia (usually South Korea or Indonesia) are manufactured. Current company headquarters of ESP is North Hollywood, California (the USA).

Models

The instruments of ESP orient themselves optically usually at classical models of the E-guitar such as Gibson Les Paul, SG and Explorer as well as the Fender Stratocaster. It is characteristic for ESP that these Designs were developed further and often only roughly of the models to remind.

Standard models
