Serious Ludwig home (* 22. July 1747 in Solz, today to Rippershausen, Thuringia; "† 15 September 1834 in Berlin) was a German physician.

Life

Home was born as a son of a minister on 22 July 1747 in Solz in Thuringia. After its study it attained a doctorate 1772 to the doctor of the medicine. Starting from 1775 it lived 1776 in Spandau with Berlin, the Stadtphysikus and the Kreisphysikus of the Havellandes was later appointed. At the house reformation place 2 in the old part of town Spandau, that former Offiziantenhaus, reminds a Gedanktafel (see: Monuments in Spandau) at Ernst Ludwig home, who had here its office dwelling.

Home introduced the smallpox protective inoculation as a first physician. Since a physician attendance with the Humboldts in Tegel it informs the eight-year old Alexander of Humboldt in the botany. He was a last treating physician of the Prussian queen Luise of Mecklenburg Strelitz.

Home became 1822 on the occasion of its doctor due to his unselfishness for many decades honour citizen of Berlin. Its grave is appropriate for new church on the cemetery II the Jerusalemer and in Berlin cross mountain, Zossener road, abbott 3.1 (honour grave of Land Berlin).

A physician was honoured in such a way rarely like home - until today. Roads, hospitals, schools - particularly in Berlin - were designated after it, medals, intending cups and stamps published with its Portrait, of the hand Tiecks, lithographies, copper passes, public intend in Berlin Marzahn - and until today at least 16 biographies appeared over it.

To the family of Ernst Ludwig home belongs also to Johann Ludwig home, who participated as a prince instructor in the education later duke Carl William of Saxonia Meiningen. Magister home, minister to Solz and Mehmels, finished 1767 its Hennebergi Chronika.
