Erivan Haub (* 29 September 1932 in Wiesbaden) is owner of the Tengelmann group and led these from 1969 to 2000.

Biografie

Erivan Haub was born on 29 September 1932. His nut/mother Elizabeth originates from the entrepreneur family Schmitz Scholl, the owner family of the retail trade company Tengelmann. For the end of the Second World War it is drawn in as a twelve-year-old boy to the people storm. After the war Haub made 1952 its Abitur. Afterwards it completed two commercial training programmes with the Jewel Tea company in Chicago and with the alpha beta company in La Habra. After its return from the USA it studied Hamburg political economy at the university. In this time Karl Schiller holds there the chair for economic theory. After its exam 1959 it completed trainee programs, among other things with the Commerzbank. it occurred 1963 the family-own Tengelmann group. After the death of his uncle Karl Schmitz Scholl to 22. March 1969 it became their exclusive managing director. 2000 he handed the line to its son over Karl Erivan Haub; it sits however further in the adviser of the group of firms.

Guidance of the Tengelmann group

Under Erivan Haub concentrated the Tengelmann group its business on the retail trade with private users. Under his guidance expanded Tengelmann by and branch establishments within this range. 1971 were taken over the retail chain "Kaiser's coffee business AG". 1972 created Haub the Einzelhandelsdiscounter plus. In the subsequent years it focused the development of the international business. Worth mentioning is here the assumption of the majority with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea company Inc. in new jersey 1979.

Family

Haub is married since 1958 with Helga Haub (geb. Otto). They have three sons, Karl Erivan, George and Christian. Haub and its wife live in Wiesbaden.

Honours and honors

Erivan Haub received the Distinguished Service Cross 1 to 2004. Class of the earnings/service medal of the Federal Republic of Germany.
