Engine works Esslingen AG (ME) (engine works Esslingen AG) an enterprise was for the production of locomotives, streetcars, railway carriages, roll supports, course-technical equipment (turntables, sliding stages), bridges, steel above ground structures, pumps and boilers.

The establishment by Emil Kessler took place at the 11. The ME acquired itself a special call by the building of its Zahnradlokomotiven in many variants. With such a machine also the Dampflokomotivbau in Esslingen locked and thus at the same time in completely Western Europe: On 21 October 1966 the work left as a last gear wheel steam engine built for Indonesia.

The ME was last a subsidiary property hope hut. 1965 acquired Daimler Benz AG the enterprise, in order to use the factories for their production. Engine works Esslingen AG exists also today (2006) still, however only as pure property and farm lease company.
