E-Business is the integrated execution of all automizable business processes of one enterprise by information and herds of communication technology and twenties, 2004.
The term E-Business is differently far laid out and used often misleadingly. IBM those made popular the term into the 90iger years by Werbekampagnen defines the term as "reorganization of strategic enterprise processes and the accomplishment of the challenges of a new market, for that increasingly by globalization is characterised and on knowledge been based." Staudt, 2001, P. 24
The strategic enterprise processes close the entire creation of value chain and the relations of an enterprise with its partners a Staudt, 2001. This description of the E-Business-term leaves nevertheless a concretizing open of the reorganization and likewise, with which means E-Business is to be realized, although the term suggests a conversion by electronic, thus information and communication technology (IuK technology).
Further Thome defines E-Businesses as "integrated execution of all digitizable components of economic processes" Thome, 2002, P. 151. This definition of the E-Business manufactures a relationship with the IuK technology (digitizable) and concretizes the reorganization demanded by IBM by the integrated execution of the economic processes. Thome understands by it thus the medium-break-free, computer-based and automated processing of information during economic processes Thome, 2002.
The statement of "economic processes" includes however economical processes also, which are not according to Thome view article, if it defined that with it all efforts are meant, with those restaurant economics of goods against return transfer Thome, 2002, P. 151.
Due to the two substantial meanings of the noun Business also two meanings for the term E-Business can be derived.
Major item electronic trade
On the one hand it means trade, thus the process of the purchase and selling goods Oxford, 1993, Langenscheidt, 1994, Macmillan, 2002. In this sense the translation of E-Businesses reads electronic trade and "economic processes" therefore refers to market transactions. This is also the meaning, the definition Thome presented by Thome, 2002.
On the other hand the business is meant in the sense of enterprises Oxford, 1993, Langenscheidt, 1994, Macmillan, 2002 with Businesses, so that a translation also electronic business or electronic enterprise can read. "Refers economic processes" then to the whole of the business processes, which include also the market transactions with. This definition is in the sense of the idea of the E-Business presented by IBM Staudt, 2001.
Major item integration
Also the statement digitizable components used by Thome is inaccurate, since it refers only to the structure level of the integration during automation and excludes the automation of the behavior level. The term digitizable should be replaced by automizable regarding IuK technologies, since the structure and the behavior level are thus included. In addition it becomes automizable clear by the term that the restrictions economy and technical feasibility must be fulfilled, in order to be able to illustrate a business process by E-Businesses.
Therefore E-Business means, "the integrated execution of all automizable business processes of an enterprise by information and communication technology." see herds et. aluminium, 2006
This definition shows that E-Business affects on the one hand transaction costs by the integration of the business processes and on the other hand on the turn-around time and/or transmission costs by automation. Since integration takes place however first on the organizational side and this can be automated then by IuK technologies, so far technically realizable, a successful execution of E-Businesses is to organizational adjustments, like the process, which binds giving up and the data integrations. Therefore E-Business can generate the success potentials, but they can be called up only by the restructuring of organizational operational sequence Thome, 2002.
