Dragut pasha (* 1485; "Â 1565) were a Korsar and from 1552 to 1565 pasha of Tripoli.
Dragut pasha (actually: Torghud Ali pasha) served first under the command of Cheir OD DIN Barbarossa the most important Korsar of the western Mediterranean and the commander in chief of the osmanischen fleet since 1533. Dragut pasha turned out 1540 with Korsika in shank could however after four years by a ransom redeem itself. After the death of Cheir OD DIN Barbarossa became Dragut pasha 1546 captain of the osmanischen fleet and Kalabrien and Neapel. After it had conquered 1550 briefly Mahdia, Dragut pasha with support of 12000 osmanischen soldiers the conquest of Tripoli and driving the Malteserordens out succeeded.
Now Dragut was appointed pasha of Tripoli and 1552 the commander in chief of the osmanischen fleet. As such it repelled 1559 a Spanish attack on Algiers and defeated 1560 a Spanish fleet with Djerba. Dragut pasha participated also in the attempt of the Osmanen to conquer Malta. With the fights for the away San Elmo it fell to 23.06.1565 with combat against the Malteser knight medals.
