A direction trade union is a trade union, which feels obligated a world-descriptive or political direction. One differentiates between essentially communist, socialist, Christian and liberal trade unions.

In Continental Europe direction trade unions with establishment have themselves starting from center 19. Century up to the today's day as a dominating trade union organisation receive.
