The direct need matrix contains the quantity units at raw materials and intermediate products, those necessarily is around these products to be manufactured. The matrix can be developed from the Gozintograph. From the direct need matrix the total requirement matrix can be set up.

Structure of the matrix

Each line of the matrix describes, in which number of items a product or a raw material is contained in other products. Turned around comes out from each column of the matrix, in which numbers of items the other products or raw materials are contained in a product.

In the following generally regarded direct need matrix P is located as the final product, Z1 to Zn for intermediate products and g 1 to Rm for the necessary raw materials. x1 1 to xm+n+1 m+n+1 are appropriate Mengen.Die rear columns with zeros are filled up (in raw materials no further products are contained), in order to make the matrix square. This characteristic is needed, in order to calculate by it the total requirement matrix.
