Different Chydenius (* 26 February 1729 in Finland, "† 1 February 1803 in the municipality Gamla Karleby) was a Finnish minister, politician, an economist and an important philosopher of the classical liberalism, which spread the ideas of the clearing-up.

Differently Chydenius operated 1766 the introduction of the law over the Pressefreiheit that the censorship stops and information transparency (Swedish: offentlighetsprincipen) to Swedish administrations introduces.

In the year 1765 Chydenius for several coastal towns of Finland procured the foreign trade rights, whereby it became very important particularly for the city Kokkola. There the Chydenius park was designated after it, in which a of it is likewise located. Starting from 1770 he worked as a minister in the Finnish municipality Kaarlela, which belongs today to the city Kokkola.

For its work Chydenius received a place on the Finnish 1000-Markschein starting from 1986.
