The Diehl donation & CO kg is a German group of firms with seat in Nuremberg, which are completely in family estate. She gained 2004 with more than 10,500 persons employed a conversion of 1,590 billion euro (provisional numbers), whereby a portion of 33,1 % is allotted to military technology.

History

The enterprise was created on 5 September 1902 of Margarete and Heinrich Diehl as Kunstschmiede in Nuremberg. After 1917 the building of its own metal, casting and a press work had already taken place, into the 1920ern an extrusion press was established, with which the enterprise attained meaning also beyond the region.

After the admission of the industriellen manufacturing of fine-mechanical products 1934 1938 a new semi-finished material work in are built shortly thereafter to the Pegnitz and the company as war-important enterprise is classified. After the death of Heinrich Diehl takes over his son Karl Diehl of the war used the enterprise also prisoner of war and forced laborer.

Despite heavy destruction by air raids and disassembly 2 becomes after that. World war very soon the fine-mechanical manufacturing again taken up and 1947 comes the first Diehl clock on the market. After the structure of the German Federal Armed Forces Diehl enters again into the military technology business and supplies also different Nato states.

Into the 1980ern Diehl develops by the assembly of the artillery rocket system MLRS to an important system offerer, this position by the assumption the Bodensee works instrument technique, the general contractor for the European production program of the air-to-air missile Sidewinder AIM-9B, was continued to develop.

Into the 1990er years the enterprise is converted into a family trust.

1998 take over the grandchild of the firm founder, Thomas Diehl, the line of the enterprise. Its brother, Werner Diehl, is a chairman of the supervisory board of the enterprise
