Daube one calls the longitudinal woods, from those a (also called barrel binders, (in Bavaria), and/or Fassler) in the historical building method a wine or a Bierfass builds up.

Dauben are usually held by Stahlreifen at their place and brought with steam bending procedures into the typical curved form. In former times Dauben were used also as ski.
