Data exchange procedures (DTA or DTAUS) a procedure in the cashless money transfer is called.
So-called DTA files in the DTA format are passed on. These can be stored on magnetic tapes/tape cartridges or disks. The moreover one the possibility exists of transferring the files electronically (even if the name is then no longer completely stimmig, there the physical data medium for exchange is missing). This takes place in the so-called electronic switch (ELS). The exchange of physical data media is called also garage clearing. This designation comes along that the magnetic tapes were exchanged in former times frequently in the underground parkings of the central banks.
The files become on the one hand between credit institutes (banks) and between customer and Kreditinstitut used.
A physical DTA file can consist of several logical DTA files. These again consist of a A-sentence, one or more C-sentences and a E-sentence.
In order to be able to participate as a customer (e.g. as association) in the data exchange procedure, one needs a program, which can provide a DTA file, and Kreditinstitut, who this receives. Many banks and savings banks offer this service for associations or companies (still).
There is further information with the Federal Bank, the national central banks of the Lands of the Federal Republic or the local banks and savings banks.
