Blooms

The representatives of the family of the cock foot plants exhibit very original characteristics within the Bedecktsamer. The blooms are mostly zwittrig. The bloom covering consists, contrary to the majority of the other Taxa of the Bedecktsamer, only of a petal circle. The number of the bloom cladding sheets varies within the family (of 4 bloom cladding sheets for example with forest vines up to many bloom cladding sheets for example with the crowd support herb. The and the are mostly in multiplicity present. The are usually open and only with few Taxa grew together. With many Taxa are present, that are Nektar separating bloom organs. During some kinds such as Akelei and iron hat complicated dorsiventral developed blooms have, exhibit most cock foot plants only simple blooms.

Fruits

Also most fruits of the cock foot plants show relatively original characteristics, particularly the follicles. Besides there are also Taxa with and some few Taxa with caps or berries.
