Cyril Dean Darlington (* 19 December 1903 in Chorley (Lancashire); "† 26. March 1981 in Oxford) was an English Botaniker and Genetiker. He discovered the Crossover of the Chromosomen and recognized its meaning for the evolution.

1946 became Darlington president of the Royal gene TIC Society. Starting from 1953 it was active as a professor in Oxford and director of the there Botani garden. Darlington wrote important writings for the Cytologie, genetics and evolution, in which he examined the meaning of the Chromosomen for the evolution and interaction of mutation and selection.
