Corchorus is a kind from the family of the (Malvaceae) with 40 to 100 kinds from tropical and subtropical regions.

Use

In particular two kinds (Corchorus capsularis and Corchorus olitorius) have thereby economic meaning as a supplier of the jute fiber, in addition, as food.
