Because Garo was very successful with it, the Manga pioneer Osamu Tezuka (among other things astro Boy) with COM created to a certain extent a counterpart to Garo. The magazine was shifted with Tezukas production company Mushi Productions and made particularly attentive by new, unknown indication talents on itself. Thus among other things Moto Hagio, Daijiro Mohoroshi and Mitsuru Adachi for the magazine worked. Also Osamu Tezuka drew some, usually experimental, Manga for the magazine; a majority of its Phoenix was published in COM. Further important coworkers were Fujio Akatsuka, Fujiko Fujio, Shotaro Ishinomori (among other things some chapters of his success series of Cyborg 009 appeared in COM), Hideko Mizuno, Shinji Nagashima, Hisashi Sakaguchi, Keiko Takemiya and Jiro Tsunoda.
